TAORMINA

The civil wedding hall in Taormina is now perfectly located in a beautiful 14th Palazzo with large garden and well, just off the on the fashionable main Corso Umberto pedestrianised shopping street. Weddings take place inside the stone walled main salon which is an impressive room that also houses various art exhibitions during the summer which add to the beauty of this venue. An external stone stairway leads up from the garden to the first floor where the wedding hall is located.

GIARDINI NAXOS

One of Sicily's most popular beach resorts at the foot of Taormina. The Town Hall in Giardini Naxos dates back to the mid 1800's and is located in a square overlooking the sea front in the residential part of the town. Weddings take place in the Mayors Office which is very intimate and ideal for a small informal ceremony.

CEFALU'

The Town Hall of Cefalù is a large recently renovated building located right in the heart of the charming old fishing town, directly opposite the imposing Norman Cathedral and main town square. Weddings take place in the Sala delle Capriate which is a simple yet pleasant and very spacious room on the first floor and it has a very particular wooden beamed ceiling.

OUTLINE OF A CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONY IN SICILY

The bride, groom and their two compulsory witnesses sit/stand in front of the celebrant and there is seating for family and friends close by. The formatted ceremony is conducted in Italian in stages by the celebrant and then translated into English at each stage by the interpreter. The lovely ceremony lasts approximately 25 minutes in total and there is a moment halfway through the ceremony during the exchange of rings when the couple can personalise the ceremony with their own short speeches to each other. In conclusion the bride and groom, the two witnesses, the interpreter and the celebrant all sign the wedding act and the couple are proclaimed married.

Live music can be arranged as a lovely optional extra to enhance the ceremony
before during and after

Pretty floral arrangements can be ordered to decorate the wedding hall

Video cameras and photography are permitted inside the wedding hall
and a professional photography/video service can also be arranged for you

Rice and rose petals can only be thrown outside on the street afterwards

Acting as your interpreter, I will accompany the bride and groom to the Town Hall civil registry office to complete the declaration of intention to marry one or two days prior to the wedding. The town hall civil registry office is open Mondays to Fridays (mornings only), so this should be taken into consideration when arranging and and booking dates of travel.
